The Pros and Cons of Mesotherapy as a Non-surgical Medicine Treatment

Mesotherapy - a Non-surgical medicine treatment non-surgical medicine treatment

In today's world people are not content to look the way they were made to look by Mother Nature. Instead most people will tell you that there is something about their bodies they do not like. With this in mind, many are open to a variety of non-surgical medical treatments and they are spending lots of money to do them.

Whether it is reduction of cellulite, or getting some form of cosmetic surgery, the industry is making thousands of dollars attempting to make the switch from what they see in the mirror to what they see in a magazine.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy dates back to 1952 when a French physician began to work with the process. Today it is a fairly new treatment, to treat certain conditions. It is not as invasive as some other procedures for problems like cellulite reduction or facial tightening.

When people get these treatments, it is usually because they want to change how a section of their body looks, or to slow down the aging process. A major benefit in the case of cellulite is that Mesotherapy actually works on it directly and flushes fat deposits out of the body. This is very different than Liposuction which really cannot help cellulite because it is not traditional fat as most people think. Mesotherapy has also been used to treat other conditions of the skin like scars and wrinkles, acne or stretch marks.

Mesotherapy Procedure

Usually a dermatologist will create an injection that is comprised of different homeopathics, vitamins, amino acids and minerals and then inject them into the mesoderm that wants to be fixed. Each injection is specifically made for the individual so the treatment can cost more than other types of treatments.

Anytime someone wants to get rid of cellulite, reduce sagging skin or deal with certain skin conditions like stretch marks or acne, mesotherapy can be the most effective way to do it. As compared to liposuction mesotherapy is able to keep fat from forming in other areas, and it can treat any area of the body, no matter how small. This is an outpatient procedure so you will not have to stay away from work or have any other downtime after you have this procedure.

Cons of Mesotherapy

In the United States, no one has died from the procedure and there are no serious mesotherapy risks that have been reported. In some countries where medical guidelines are not as strict, this type of therapy has had certain risks associated with it. In these countries the procedure is often performed in salons by nonmedical people who create skin infections.

Mesotherapy Side Effects

Different patients will experience different things so it is not clear if there are specific mesotherapy side effects. Some people have experienced bruising around the area where they received the injection, and some have had some swelling. This usually goes away within a few days. Some people experience a burning sensation when the injection is being made and if someone has a low threshold for pain, they may need topical anesthesia.
